Welcome to It'll Do Farms ! We are a small farm located in Midwestern IL. My husband is a traditional farmer -growing corn, soybeans, hay and cattle. I stick to the fun stuff -HORSES ! Everyone always wants to know how someone "got into minis". Years ago a friend was wanting to purchase a couple miniatures and asked if I would go along to help with the decision making. I told her that was easy -"You're crazy to be buying one of those short-legged critters. What are you going to do with it anyway?" Well, guess who came home with one! We purchased a nice palomino weanling filly. At the time I thought of her mostly as my son's pony -who just happened to have a set of papers. I continued playing with my true love Arabians. Due to a decline in my health, I knew I needed to make life a little easier and as I was thinking of how to accomplish that and thinking of how much joy the little palomino "pony" had given us - the choice was obvious. I still love the large breeds, but I get so much enjoyment out of the "little guys" and can do so many wonderful things with them, that I am glad I made the right choice.
As for the strange farm name....well, while I am proud of what we do have , I doubt we'll ever own a fancy show barn or million dollar farm. Our focus is to raise wonderful animals with excellent temperaments, the best conformation we can and keep them affordable for everyone to be able to enjoy. Therefore, while I may not have every material thing I'd like, I have what matters most, good family and good horses. So as far as the farm goes....It'll Do.
